A set of Nielsen figures suggests that this year’s Oscar awards hosted by Neil Patrick.Harris was super low on entertainment quotient as it drew the smallest audience in the last 6 years, a 36.6 million average viewers!
Unlike Ellen DeGeneres, who always rocks as the host at Academy Awards (she got.the maximum viewers since the year 2000, a 43.7 million average viewers), the How I Met Your Mother star failed to recreate the magic!
It is being believed that the Oscars this year were a dull affair because they exceeded their three hour long time limit by 40 minutes.
The ceremony was mostly boring except for moments like John Legend and Common’s Glory performance or Lady Gaga’s Sound of Music tribute.
Neil Patrick Harris failed to connect with.the older audience even though he is.hugely popular with the younger crowds.
The Nielsen figures show a 16 percent decline from last year as the award.nominations didn’t have any Box office winners.
