Easily the most eagerly awaited film of 2015, Jakkanna's Baahubali is nearing its completion and the film's post-production work is going on round the clock to meet the 15th May deadline for a gigantic release across the globe. Being made on a budget of more than 150 crores, the film is the costliest Telugu film ever made.
Baahubali is being made in two parts and the craze for the film among fans and the trade pundits is unprecedented. As per the fresh reports, the film's satellite rights are fetching a whopping 25 crores for both the parts. Apparently, leading Telugu channels like Gemini, Maa TV and Zee Telugu are the frontrunners to grab the exclusive rights to telecast the film.
Usually, the satellite rights of most star heroes' films are sold for anywhere around 10-13 crores, based on the star power and the combinations. If Baahubali figures are indeed true, then it is indeed a historic deal that the makers have managed to ink. Apart from the TV rights, the film's theatrical rights have already touched around 175 crores, including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi languages.
